How to treat scale pests on a cactus without removing the blue wax coating?

Hello,

I’m hoping to find advise on how to treat scale without removing the blue wax coating on cacti? Most treatments seem to involve alcohol, washing or oil which would likely remove the blue wax coating on the cactus. Any recommendations would be appreciated.
