I removed shade-cloths covered over my greenhouses last week.
Some asterias have been in flower since the strength of lighting has been changed.

Astrophytum asterias cv super kabuto
This form is called as various names but I bought 16 seeds as "Tiger" in 2003.
The current size is 12 cm diameter.
The flower of asterias in autumn is small.


Ariocarpus retusus v furfuraceus cv Suguri-cauliflower
This young degrafted species shows the character of cultivar quite well.
It is just 4 years old, 12 cm diameter.

Many Ariocarpus are in flower currently.
The photo is an A. retusus v furfuraceus cv Shinkawa-magnificus.
I repotted this in a tall and slender pot last spring.
The pot is designed for orchids.

Although I found several flowering buds were eaten by mice in the morning unfortunately, I could see some flowers.

I am just a hobby cactus collector as same as many members in this forum.
It is not perfect but the weather in here is very good for cactus propagation.

You can see flowers on Ariocarpus seedlings in reasonable ages if you could managed them well.
kotschoubeyans: 3 years old
agavoides: 4 years old
fissuratus: 4 years old
retusus: 5 years old
I think their flowering ages are very similar to Astrophytum.
