I Just have 4 of Echinocereus cacti.
Two of them were in flower in this morning.

A few Astro's from the garden today.

An other Onzuka was in flower yesterday.
This one is the original form of the Onzuka, elongated in mature age.
I sowed seeds in 2003.


This one is very young, Astrophytum hanazono kabuto x red flowering asterias.
I sowed seeds on 5th August last year.
12 seedlings were grafted onto Pereskiopsis stocks.
It is 1st flower on the cactus.

A crested flower of asterias was in flower yesterday.

Now that is something truly special!!! What a stunning occurrence!

Since I saw similar flowers before, I checked my old photos and found that the same asterias opened crested flowers every year since 2012.
The asterias has just 6 ribs. The body form is also abnormal.

A matured asterias, 16 cm in diameter was in flower yesterday.

I bought 50 seeds and sowed on 16th November 2003.
Only 6 cacti have remained. One of them were in flower in the morning.

A red flowering asterias was in flower in this afternoon.
Stigmas are also red, means a true red flowering asterias.
The body is very small, 5 cm in diameter.

Several Discocactus were in flower last night.
I took photos early in this morning.
The photo is D. horstii v woutersianus.

Hanazono, do you sell or offer any seeds of yours? I think I would like to have that red astro of yours if possible.

An asterias (red flowering asterias x hanazono kabuto) was in flower yesterday.
A similar one posted on 13th October was (hanazono kabuto x red flowering asterias).
This red flower comes from mother's gene.

It seems tips of tubercles on your agavoides have been damaged significantly.
What was it happened?

Considering I am used to standard lophophora's flowering multiple times a week, this is a rare sight for me.

This is a true breeding lophophora williamsii 'caespitosa'. Seed grown. Very old. First time in 2 years it has flowered. I crossed it out several times with other lophophora's over the course of 2 days. Fingers crossed it produces fruit.


The next image is its offspring the seed was planted last season. The large head in the centre is actually a texana, the clump right next to it is the caespitosa. They have recently been sprayed with sulphur so ignore the ugly white marks.

I am not sure the exact reason but Discocactus are in flower together in a same night.
