What is a typical T. peruvianus?

I'd say it's T.macrogonus, but just as easily could be a hybrid. There are so many Tricho hybrids that trying to ID them properly can be a real headache. The 4 spined aereoles have got me a bit confused as this can often indicate T. bridgesii. Pretty sure it's a hybrid. See what others say before making up any labels though.

Nice looking Trich btw. Wouldn't mind a cut in a few years after she puts on several feet and you have spare.

I agree, there truly is no typical T. peruvianus.
If you buy a T. peruvianus in Melbourne that is the plant you will get. I'd call it the typical Melbourne peruvianus if anything.
