| Since I collect cactus as a ornamental plant, I wash cactus by water every occasion of repotting. I use soap when it was necessary and possible to use. I also use a small comb to set long hair of cactus up.
The Alps super kabuto on the photo is under rooting process. I hope it would complete with a successful result but I am not sure at moment.

| Some super colours on these Kikko koh yo seedlings I decided to put on grafts. Kikko trait doesn't usually show up till plants are 5cm diameter or more. Because I know these ones are good colour already I wanted to push them to find out if they are good kikko too. I reckon I need to start using black backgrounds with this new look forum.....but I am digging it! | |

| One you don't see every day, Conophytum burgeri just about to crust over and drift off into its summer slumber. This species is the ultimate in fused succulent leaf-pair plants. Took seven years to get seeds on this plant grown from seed. | |

Actually I lost quite many kabutos for the last one year. I have been making more to fill the room up.

| I once collected Gimnocalycium. I have no intention to collect more but still remained some. I propagated the following 3 species from seeds. 1. G. spegazzinni v loricatum, sowed seeds on 16 November 2003 2. G. vatteri, sowed seeds on 16 October 2004 3. G. spegazzinii v ornatum, sowed seeds on 17th November 2004 | |

| Nice plants. I love gymno's but I have a lot of trouble with sun damage and 'wrinkling' up here. Definitely need a greenhouse. | |

| Yes Gimnocalycium will be damaged easily by strong sunlight.
I cover Gimnos area by 50% green shade-cloth permanently. I add one more 50% green shade-cloth between mid of November to mid of March. Gimnos are covered by 2 layer of shade-clothes in summer time.
