| Very interesting. I recently acquired a Pediocactus knowltonii but it has pink flowers. Love the M. pectinifera. That is one of my favorite ex-pelecyphora's. | |

| Very nice, it is difficult to keep them blemish free for so long !! I have an Asterias that would be 15+ in diameter but it is grafted and has a few blemishes on the skin due to a mouse attack. Your plant looks flawless and a rarity with 13 ribs ??

| Hi Hanazono,
great A. asterias cv hanazono kabuto!! looks like the ribs keep forming, would there be any chance of it cresting in the future? 13 ribs is amazing!!! even all the flower buds popping up in all the lower crevices. i just noticed a crested flower!!! i think u might have a crest there!!!!

| The hanazono kabuto on the photo has a normal body, just 13 ribs at moment. I can not see any evidences of the cresting. By the way, the largest one in my greenhouse is 19 cm diameter. Since I washed its body by liquid baby soap, adjusted roots length and repotted lately, you can not see flowers yet. Degrafted and under rooting process is just one which is asterias cv Alps superkabuto, 16 cm diameter. | |

| Extremely well grown plants mate, love that star shape. Do you find washing helps bring the natural colour back ? I usually wash mine with water only does the soap help ? | |

| I have never hear of tooth whitener being used, I'm pretty sure it would work but it may cause damage to the plant. Let me know if you try it. I wonder what else would work? | |

| I wasn't aware cacti could be washed and pamper in that way. Though I have heard of people vacuuming plant's after potting. | |
