Two seedlings grafted this season both have good potential. I particularly like the large areoles on both the plants but find it strange they both have pronounced albeit small spines.

Sorry about the slightly out of focus shots but I don't have a macro lens.

If the diameter of areoles were more than 10 mm on a mature asterias, you can call it "ooibo kabuto".
Areoles on the top one is called "Andon" meaning Japanese lantern.
Andon will be more than 10 mm diameter when the plant becomes mature age.

I think the top one has been turning to Kikkou.
