New cacti Empty
PostSubject: New cacti    New cacti EmptySun Mar 02, 2014 4:30 pm

Good afternoon folks!

Went on a bit of a shopping spree today and picked up 5 new cacti.
I took some photos but it seems far too complex to upload them so I'll just post their names.

Ferrocactus latisspinus
Gymnocalycium baldianum
Gymnocalycium mihanovichii
Echinopsis seminudus
Echinofossulo (unsure if correct name, copied from label)

And my seeds should arrive tomorrow so I'm looking forward to planting them up.
I mixed up my soil today and its in the oven as I type this. .
Ended up using -
Sifted potting mix
Tiny gravel
Coco coir
Propagating sand

I wanted to use perlite but couldn't justify the price of it so will make do with what I have.

Sounds like some fine plants there. Here's a post about uploading pictures. Hope this helps.

The easiest way to display a picture is to host the image. On the tool bar just above where you type your message there is 2 buttons about midway along the bar. One is 'host an image' the other is 'insert an image'.

Now before you use these buttons its important to know that you can only host an image with a max size of 800x800. So if you want to load a picture straight from your camera to the site it won't work as the camera image is HUGE!! You will need to re-size it first.

Once you have your file resized and ready to go, click the "host image" button. A little pop up box will appear. Click "choose file" then select the file you want to upload. Click the little "host it" button. You will have to wait a few seconds for the image to be uploaded. Then the box will change to a number of text boxes with HTML code in them. Copy the bottom one. (pressing the copy button doesn't always work so its better to hit CTRL C)

Next click the insert image button and paste the code you copied into the URL box. Then hit insert. The code will appear in your topic. Where ever you put the code will determine where the picture appears int the message
