| Beauty! Any special techniques to get them to flower? My largest Tricho is nearing the 2m mark and hasn't flowered yet... i wish it would. | |

| blowng, no real tricks the only thing I do personally is not move the plant once it becomes dormant in the colder months leading up to the flowering season. I try and keep the plant in a constant position as I believe the arch of the sun (it gets higher in summer) is what helps trigger flowering. Lachy, I had a nice Tricho Echinopsis hybrid that I missed whilst I was overseas. I was really keen to find out the flower colour. Fingers crossed for your trichos. P.s I have heard many people say tichos flower more readily in the ground and I too believe this is true, both the plants above are in pots | |

| Hey HN, do you think your peruvianus could actually be a pachanoi variant, such as the following? From Ecuador: From Peru: The colour of the hair/wool around the base of the flower is a bit pale for pachanoi though, but it could easily be a hybrid, like the PC pachanoi. | |

| Yes it could easily be a Pachanoi, the remainder of the plant is quite heavily spined and reminds me more of Cuzco than a pach but there is such variation in Trichos I have no idea really. | |

| Interesting, I really like the idea that there are several different pachanoi variants here in Aus, rather than just the PC clone. Where did you get it from? | |

| Hey I just noticed something quite interesting when I stumbled across this thread again, thanks sneaky. In the first picture of this thread look in the background there is a Tricho Peruvianus and the date is 13/12/2010, here is that picture to make it easier. Here is the same plant as of 24/09/2013, the big one in the middle That's some pretty good growth. | |

| wow that's some intense growth. At least tripled in size since then. Just curious, whats the thickest log you have ever seen? I remember reading in trouts notes a very interesting snippet of information regarding some ancient, enormous (possibly naturally hybridized) tricho's. Here's a photo I found on a rather interesting Facebook page, that, due to its topic of conversation I can't mention here. One day it might reach this size. | |
