Last year while at the local Flower Power, while having a spec at the bargain shelf, I found a dozen really big hanging baskets filled with some sickly looking epi's on clearance for $20. Just the baskets with no plants in them normally cost that much. So I figured if it died I'd still have a nice hanging basket. Well, with decent care, and nearly a year later, it's flowering.

Think I did ok? Wink

Yup, did good there I'd say! I got a few from Bunnings last year and they have absolutely exploded into growth, even some flowers this spring.

Last week, hybrid called Pegasus

Last night, another hybrid "David Copperfield"

This morning's view in the Epi corner of the yard, going to be trying some cross pollination here.

Grows kinda massive too, the stem that flower is on has to be almost a meter long now and about 15 cm's wide.

That Pegasus was close to the 30cm mark aswell, bit of a difference to my other leafy cactus that's in bloom right now.

Unknown Lepismium or Rhipsalis in bloom, a mere 5mm's across Laughing

oh ive had it for years... maybe 10 or more? thats why i am so pleased to get a flower. its a long time back and i didnt keep notes back then so cant exactly say. they grow well from sept to about march and are tolerant of fair amounts of water during that period. if you are in melbourne, try gardenworld in springvale road, keysborough. they are the retail arm of paradisia (wholesalers) who are the most likely to have big ones that might flower earlier.

Epi "Pink Perfection", bit smaller than the other 2 but still gorgeous

And my first ever Opuntia, think O. macrocentra, bit to cool in the air for it to open fully though.
