A nice Hakuun ranpo-gyoku!
Hakuun means "white cloud".
I have a similar one.

This cultivar was developed years ago in Japan.
The species have not remained so many in Japan because they were not so popular unfortunately.
The plant will be an elongated shape when it was a mature age.

Nice addition there, better keep it away from your 4 legged friends.  Oh and not sure if you have one or not but someone is selling a Pilosocereus azureus in Frankston http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/frankston-north/miscellaneous-goods/tall-cactus-/1054398005here.  Looks like a very good size for $25.

Thanks hanazono,
I think they're absolutely beautiful looking plants, surprised to hear that it will elongate honestly thought it would remain more ball shape but guess when it does elongate it will show off the white patterning much better.
The Japanese hybrids are among my favourite cacti, the shapes, textures and colours are in my opinion unsurpassed.

Hydrophobe: thanks for the mention, I missed out unfortunately have been really crook for the past week or so, first day out of bed in a week today. Thankfully the cacti can be left unattended for that amount of time with ease!

Waker87

Your plant is still very small. I believe you have not seen the flower yet.
People said "Hakuun will elongate when it was a mature age because of mixed tulense's gene."
