Monstrose Astrophytum caput-medusae

Ok, I'm pretty excited about this, but I need to think about how to handle it. I have a container that has a number of AMC seedlings in it, which I have been grafting onto various root stocks (mainly Pereskiopsis). There were around 60-70 when I started. I have gone halfway through them, and what should I discover, but a monstrose ACM. I will shoot some pictures of it tomorrow, so you can see it's for real. It's much wider then normal seedlings, and has two heads each with a pair of prongs and their own separate tubercle coming out from between them. Never seen anything like it before. Is it rare? Have any of you seen them before? I want to graft it, but I am a bit nervous of destroying it, if the graft doesn't take....
Suggestions please?

You will have to post a pic for us however I will say that caput do tend to do some strange things.

Ok, here is the picture. It looks like siamese twins joined along one side, but just one root at the bottom.


It is on the right side of the image, near the top. There is a slight crease where they should have been separate seedlings.
Should I graft it?

I see the one your talking about I would graft it and see what happens. Your seedlings look nice and healthy

Out of the caput I have grown I have had a few seedlings do this kind of thing and they turned out normal for me, but you just never know. I would definitely graft it.

Sorry but this isn`t very rare.
In 1-2 Years it`s a normal plant. I also have this in my seedlings.

Too bad. So now I wonder what the monstrose ACMs look like as seedlings. Or does that show up at a much later stage?
