| So I finally got off my ass and started my green house. I needed to build one that can be pulled apart easily when I move and this was the best option. The frame takes about an hour to assemble with one person. The frame is made from 35mm galvanized pipe and the whole thing is held together using Elgate pipe connectors of various functions. Only tools needed are a 13mm spanner for the connectors and a 5/8th spanner for the hinges. The roof beams where a little bit tricky to get right. They are 3mm galvanized flat bar with some pipe welded to either ends, flexed around a very specific arc with some round bar welded at intersecting points along the arc to hold the shape. The pipe on either end is so I can connect them to the frame using the pipe connectors. All up it is 4 meters by 2.6 meters. More updates to come.

| Wow! Absolutely brilliant! Looking really good so far, must say I am extremely jealous.. Is this from a kit or did you design and construct yourself? | |

| My own design. The kits seemed a bit over priced. I'll hopefully get a bit more done over the next few days. Work is such a time drain. | |

| Update: Finally got out in the yard for a bit before the sun went down. The roof mesh is on and the first strip of vagrant proofing. In the mean time I have been working on some new benches to compliment my cactus crib. | |

| Almost finished. Just need to fill in the arch with some shade cloth and fill the floor with pebbles. | |

| OK. I must say (again) it looks fantastic. Now.....Would you be so kind please to tell an European Blond what exactly is GH needed for over there. To keep them cool enough and in shade? Or is there too much rain maybe? Or just to have place for them so they don't sit arround everywhere. Thank you. | |

| Thanks guys.
Majcka, up in the north of Australia I have found 2 major problems with growing cacti. One is the torrential rain during the wet season and the other is the blazing hot sun that also come with the wet season. I've found cacti can handle one or the other but not them both together.
What I mean by that is it will be overcast and raining for two weeks straight, then the clouds clear up and the blazing hot hot sun comes out. This really quick change of conditions kills heaps of my plants each year. The green house is to keep the growing conditions more stable. | |

| Thanks Cuttlefish. It is logical. Only I'm not much educated about your weather condition. | |
