| Hello, I would like to start a thread where each person posts a single cacti photo form their collection. The only rule us just post a single photo per post and wait until another person posts before posting again. I will start things off: Trichocereus Peruvianus. I just love this particular plant, the blue shimmer is amazing..... | |

| Think I'll continue on with the blue theme. The following plant is one I purchased from Lester, I love the blue colouring and the new spines are a nice red colour. | |

| The attached photo is an Astrophytum asterias showing a mature appearance. I sowed seeds in 2001 when I was in NSW. The seedling moved to SA together with me in 2003. The current size is 18 cm diameter. I assume it will reach to 20 cm diameter in future. | |

| Ariocarpus retusus v furfuraceus cv Suguri large tubercle cauliflower I have 2 grafted mature plants but only 1 plant shows the character of cauliflower. I harvest may seeds and propagate seedlings. I select seedlings showing the cauliflower character and keep them. The attached photo is one of them. | |

| Ferocactus chrysacanthus f rubispinus Sown seeds in 2001 and grafted young seedlings and degrafted later Sit on outdoor since 2009 Since sunlight is strong enough in here, the plant appearance is similar to a habitat one. It was buried in winter-weeds but I removed them for taking the photo. | |

| A cactus called "Benitaka" was very popular overseas about 10 years ago. Benitaka means red-hawk. I found the scientific name of Bebitaka which was a cultivar of Theloactus hetarochromus. The cultivar had thick and long spines. I could find the seeds of Thelocactus hetarochromus f longispinus in a domestic seed supplier and sowed them on 31st August 2006. The photo is one of them. The flower of hetarochromus is very large. | |

| Hakuran-super (coahuilence x super kabuto) Hakuran-super is a typical asterias related hybrid. The photo is a 2nd filial one ((coahuilence x super kabuto) x super kabuto). Although number of ribs is same as coahuilence, it seemes super gene is affected quite strongly. It is just 5cm diameter, flowering size. | |

| Thanks HN for your comment. Unfortunately it has a small body because the hybridization is affected. | |
