... the owner of Arizona Cacti Nursery at Box Hill, NSW on Old Windsor Road and his collection? (His name escapes me)
I half-recall some TV ad that aired briefly in 2002? 2003? 2004? which ran along the lines that he was closing the business, last chance to buy plants at reduced prices etc. Even the site of the old nursery seems to have vanished. I'm assuming at least part of it now lies under the widened roadway.
Shame really, it was one of only two retail cacti nurseries in all of Sydney that I knew/know of and he often had harder-to-find or unusual types of plants for sale, like Turbinicarpus, Leuchtenbergia, Lophophora, even Obregonia denegrii (which I, in my horticultural dunderheadedness managed to send to plant heaven after only a couple of years).
