T. Lophophoroides Red skin

Hi guys.

I Have this Turbinicarpus and It's developed red skin. The plant is under artificial lights. All the other turbs are doing fine under these lights. They are daylight fluros. I checked the roots and Its looking fine down there.

Any ideas?

Its either a light related disorder or a skin disease. Are the fluros grow tubes or just standard fluros? It may be light spectrum issue.

They are grow tubes I believe. Only about 60w light though. What do you think about light schedule being a problem? Maybe to much daylight?

Your T. lophophoroides is not a small seedling.
Do you have any special reasons to use artificial lights for the cactus?

Hi, they are under lights simply because I have not got a good outdoor space for them. It's raining often, one of these days I'll get a green house set up. I have some other turbinicarpus and they are growing well under these lights along with some others like obregonia and strombocactus. Just this lophophoroides is giving me trouble.
