PostSubject: Myrtillocactus   Myrtillocactus EmptyMon Feb 25, 2013 9:33 am

Hello,
I am seeking some Myrtillocactus for grafting purposes. They seem like a lovely looking cactus also! I have looked high and low in my local area and now would like to throw it out there if anyone has a cutting I would be able to purchase or even trade for, but cash would be much preferred.

I thank you all in advance Smile

Someone will surely give you the hook ups but its so slow to obtain stocks, so my next bit of advice is get one of these cactophiles to hook you up with 100-1000seed and plan for da fuuuuture!! then get some hylo and pere stock as they are both like weeds and will get you started while you wait for you stock empire to grow

I've been chipping away growing stocks for 2 years now and im nowhere close to where id like to be in numbers, all my other seeds will prob be defunct by the time i can afford to plant and graft em. Next season i'll prob be close to starting my grafting empire, in the meantime i just try to grow like a sloth and watch my seedlings do nothing.

GOOD LUCK! start small grow seed now early for stocks and in a few years you will be able to take on these grafting overlords! (thats my plan)

Lester Meyers has cuttings for $10 each on his list this year (see the cssnsw page -> buy stuff)

From memory the cuttings were a generous size - if you were after smaller and cheaper he may be able to accomodate you.

If you are still looking and have the option of picking the piece up in the Sydney area I have an arm I have to lop off mine soonish as it's growing into the neighbours fence.
Probably be a near 2 foot log that will be going and it's right now trying to grow new offsets from it aswell.

Edit: might add that it's free for anyone to pick up, to darn big really to post anywhere with spines to boot!

It's the larger arm to the left in this photo that will be going and I don't really have room or inclination to keep more than one M. geo around.

Oh man, that looks cool.

Unfortunately, I live a bit too far away to pick it up.

Thankyou for the offer Smile
