I do not have so much job for cactus in winter but I start degrafting several plants.
I will dry degrafted plants and will be in pot in September.
The following photos are Astrophytum myriostigma v nudum cv khoyo, kikkou which I degrafted and rooted last year.
Since morning has been cold, they have started to turn the color.

I am not sure too late or too early but several asterias were in flower yesterday.

I have an Ariocarpus flowering at the moment. I would have thought it too late in the year to start flowering...

I don't know if climate change is responsible but it certainly is strange. I have been checking the temperatures in my greenhouse as I figure this must play a role. It has been as low as 5deg at night and usually gets to about 20 during the day. However this was the same last year and I got no flowers then ?

I have always been of the opinion that the change in length of sun light was a triggering factor for flowering. I'm going to have a look at the day lengths and see if I can find a pattern Smile
