Attempt making two from one Empty
PostSubject: Attempt making two from one   Attempt making two from one EmptySat Sep 27, 2008 10:34 am

I attempted making two plants from on seedling. I split a seedling and grafted on 21/09/08. One failed and the other got a successfull result.
I also did normal seedling grafting with 30 seedlings resently. All of them got a good result.
I will review the split seedling grafting method and will try again soon.

I had a go at splitting seedlings last season, after reading an article. I had 2 of them take, but they just sat there dormant for well over 6monts and never produced a pup or any growth.

Maybe you would get better results with slighly older seedlings ?

Nice graft.

well....if you want to do this you at least need an areole. grafting the top and bottom (roots) works well, but you need areoles on both ends. the root meristem wont produce a stem Smile

Do those roots require an areole to form new pups from, or will they form from the base somewhere....

Sorry, might be a basic question, but i'm in a basic kinda mood tonight...
