| So where did you find that one San rainbow? I just wish I could find a good one for identifying. Hear so many good and bad about books. Andersons - The Cacti Family has been canned so where do you go from there? From two books I have they give a totally different description of a gymno.......nough to drive a person nuts lol | |

| I had been looking everywhere for it, managed to get it here in oz from www.kimscactusbooks.com.au. It was pretty pricey but one sold on ebay second hand in the UK for the same price I got mine (new) delivered for. I tried amazon and other places but no luck, so I had to part with a few pennies but it is worth every cent.
there is so much conflicting info out there... I want a good cacti encyclopedia, any recommends?

| Been thinking about getting that Ario book. Bit expensive but looks good nonetheless. It features alot of the genera and species that I like to grow and am interested in. What makes it worth paying $100+ for it? Do you mind doing a bit of a review on the book at all? | |

| Copiapoa In their Environment book is awesome and full of great photos, don't have it but a friend does The link is Attila's I have the Pinguone,Kenya - Succulents and their Environment, Aeonium and Echeveria books and they are all great. The way the Aeonium book is written makes it a really good read. Can never have enough books on cactus and succulents | |

| no probs, What makes it worth paying $100+ for it? ... mmm good question trig, bearing in mind I haven't red it all yet... The first thing that springs to mind would be the amount of time, effort and funds invested that it would take to produce such a beautiful book, and it's written on all the cacti species I love the most . The book is a good read, well presented, hard cover, lots of beautiful detailed colour photos and a good amount of information on species, sub species in cultivation and in the wild. Its a book you would keep for ever, a good reference to look back on, it would probably be quite collectible as I would imagine that the number of books pressed would certainly be limited, and a small number at that, once there gone, there gone. I have been looking for a book specializing on most of the genius's here for a while and this one sums them up nicely! hope this is of some help. Cheers | |

You answered your own question there. Most cacti specialist books are printed very few times. When a book is available I always try to get it as quick as possible, I'd hate to miss out.
