| Well done Betty, got to like that. I also have done well. 3/4 9/10 and 5/5 from my 19 seed. 17 seed is really good germination rates. I have 2 where the centres are just beginning to merge with new growth. I had 2 germinate 6 weeks later with 2 seed, so go figure.
Already fallen in love with them all so they have a home for life

So you won't be selling on ebay then I had about 10 that germinated heaps later than the others............Great to see that you have done well with your seeds as well. I don't know about you but I am so sick of this cold weather. Sunday it was 11C just after lunch then it did a nose dive to 6C with a mean wind. The local weather guy reckons the wind chill bought the temp to -4.1C. No wonder we all froze

| They look like they are doing great. A credit to your seed growing skills betty My seeds (10) we put down about 2 months ago now and are doing pretty well, 6 germinated and one was lost leaving me 5 which is not too bad . I have grafted 2 of them to pereskiopsis and they appear to have taken. I will post some pics when I get a chance. Mine seem to have a lot more white flecks on the tubercles...I wonder why | |

| HN I had a couple of seeds germinate very late after the first lot. I have one that germinated within the last month. So it was 3 months after the others Not sure about yours having more white flecking, mine are still in the baggies so who knows | |

| Well. You are all doing better than me. I haven't even sowed mine yet need to get some more course sand. Yes I know i'm slack. Have already put in over 1000+ of other seeds though, that's why I ran out of course sand. Good work everyone. | |

| They can go mouldy though!!! Those digi seeds look nice' n clean to me though, had some seeds go mouldy over winter. They must not have been cleaned properly. Still, all I did was soak them in a 10% solution of Hydrogen Peroxide and got some tro germinate atleast. One batch had 1% and another had about 20%, better than nothing I guess. Will get them in soon, been having shocking weather lately, not good for sowing, cold wind, lots of rain and generally bad weather for cacti Bloody weather!! Was really good there for a while. | |

| seed still loses viability with age too. (generally speaking) keeping them in plastic bags doesnt help either, they can't breath. Jordi can get own roots digis to flower in 18 months from germination... mine is older than that and has not yet done so. then again he is a legend of cactus cultivation to which we are mere mortals.. | |

Yep better than nothing, something I always say to myself..lol Trig do you keep them in an airtight container with one of those things that soak up moisture. They come with new shoes and heaps of other stuff. Little packet that says do not eat. A lot of people do this and put them in the fridge over summer as it helps to stop the seed from ageing keeping them at a constant temp. I keep all my seed in a large tin and have stored some over summer in the fridge with no hassles. I heard the weather has been pretty shitty up your way and only 11C and rain today............hope it warms up for you soon. Here its going to be 37 sat and was going to be 40 sun but it has come down to 32 now. The heat mat is nearly empty now with this sort of weather happening.
