hybrid? looks like it. its got spines, x ornatum? capricorne?
i know that it will cross with myriostigma, coahuilense and asterias.

Lewis is you have a good look at the picture after this one and you will see it is buds forming

No its not rare to this person as he is one of the few who has been responsible for the growing of the digi

ah okay, but the tubercles look much thicker on this plant than the others. maybe a real close up, young plant or the effect of the stock.

They do look thicker but they have been finding strage happenings with the digis. New tubercles growing from where it flowered and then this flowering not long after. So much for them to learn about the growth habits of these great plants.

From the photos I've seen of the digi seed, they seem to resemble small ariocarpus, but are more pronounced. Suppose they all start out like green dots though.

And you beat me to tonights 10PM post.... Any news?

I have had one digi seed germinate for me last year, it was going well with two little arms and don't know what happened but I am blaming a bird............it disappeared. It happened a couple of months ago

If in doubt, blame the birds. That's what I always say.

I saw some pictures tonight of one year old digi from the same seed source and they sure looked great.

He didn't say what the % was but BTW it looked high as there were four and five digi per pot so I am guessing five seeds in each pot. As he also had ortegocactus pics at 10/10 and they had 5 a pot.

I have over 20 up now so don't give up will you and I can see more coming through

instead of burning them, try freezing them for a night then try to germinate them again

Betty, you have to be happy with 20+ up - that's a fantastic effort. I can already see eBay light up at $100 a seedling... sell sell

I am real happy with what I have but more would be even better...........not that I am greedy but I don't imagine they will all live as I usually lose a couple seedlings from each lot........like this week for some reason friggin flies chewed off the roots must have been before I drowned them

If they are like the rest of my babies, I'll never get rid of them no matter how many I have.

Hey I know a guy in Melb who has his seedling set up in his bedroom, a pretty well know grower too........................ I guess you wouldn't get any sleep at all if you did that you would be too busy listening to them grow

First planting 3/4 seeds up. One with a red tip and the other 2 green with 3 prongs. Planted another 10 and I have 1 up after a week...

Its exciting and that is 4 more than I had a fortnight ago!
