Had some rain over night and decided to get the camera out.

You can view them on this link as a slide show

Or you can see them in this album

Wow,
awesome photos Betty. Lots of spines and water droplets. Makes me feel bad that I have all my plants caged up under cover so they don't get wet when it rains. I watched every one of your 59 photos, and liked the zoom approach of the web site.

well done!!

They look awesome.

We get a beautiful dew forming over night here (when it drops to nearly 18'C) and the spines really do their job and collect the water. It's amazing to see.

You've inspired me to get up early one morning and catch the dew as it drops Smile

That was just fascinating Betty. Watching a slide show of that quality, it is very easy to see how we fell in love with all things spiky.

I truly enjoyed each and every one; however I found myself wanting more Smile

Thank you so much for sharing them with us here at ACF.

Its an Olympus SP-310. Just wish I could work out how to use all the functions on it. I am still on auto focus Laughing

Ahhhh Olympus are by far the best Smile

My latest quick pic from my Olympy baby Razz

Sorry - lowered qulaity substantially to fit on here Smile

Personally I'd never buy anything but Olympus!

The autofocus works well for you - I don't think it's an issue to not use it (I think this photo above was autofocused actually - it's sometimes quicker than manual when playing with insects!).

I think thought with digital now - you can practice with 100 pictures and not have to stress about 99 not coming out right!

All you need then is a giant card to hold all these mistakes and an even larger hard drive Smile

The other option is to take photos in .RAW format and use photoshop to touch up the 'natural descrepencies' in your photos.

I think your photos are absolutely wonderful though and even if you had to take 500 to get the 59 you displayed, that's pretty good odds!

Slim thanks I will have to do some more experimenting.............you nearly got it right with the numbers it was pretty close bounce

Do you use photoshop or something else. I just use Irfanview at the moment. Photoshop's a bit pricey. Can you recommend another that is good for a beginner like me and not so dear. Even a better freebie Wink

I do use photoshop but the above photo is not photoshoped Smile

There are some freebies - but I don't know which are free and good. You can always try somewhere like www.downloads.com and search that site for image software. Often the one that comes with your camera is also good enough.

Hi Betty, awesome pics, I thought you must have used a different camera to the one you were using when we visited you! must check out what my lot look like with rain on them now that we are actually getting some. I.ve been tucking my outside ones under the eaves to avoid the frost but there are still enough out side to get rain on them. Lois and Rod.
