anybody know where i can get crushed brick or terracotta for topping pots, in the Sydney area?

Red Scoria is readily available in different sizes and is cheap if you buy a good quantity. It is also great for use in mix as well as on top. If your set on crushed bricks etc you could try a concrete recycling place ?

Bunnings sells both crushed terracotta and scoria, though the grade size is alittle large for topdressing.

Any idea what is the particle size? I'm looking for coarse grit (approx 3mm) but can't find a source. Bunnings has 'propagating sand' which is ok as an additive but looking for something coarser.

This would be way to big for that I'd say since both are in the 10-15mm range.

I was filtering crushed rock/sometimes called rockdust for 1mm-3mm ALOT of silt and dust imho better than sand and easier to access than scoria bit of manual work but worth it if your out of alternatives like myself. It was a struggle to find a good source for making a good mix, Granite particles became my only solution
