| Hi everyone,
I would like to know where in Sydney is the best place to buy some new plants. I am mainly after some Gymnocalycium spp. and Astrophytum spp. I am starting my collection and as well as sawing some seeds I would like to get some advanced plants too.
Thank you | |

| The best retail type place in the Sydney area is probably Hamiltons world of cacti in Llandilo. P.s I'm going to move this to a better home | |

| This coming Monday as in today or next Monday? Wondering just because Hamiltons generally are closed on public holidays, wouldn't want you to head out there just to find the gate closed. | |

| Hamilton's usually has a number of rare and unusual cacti, that are not in the main display area or the igloos. You have to inquire about those though. The really rare ones used to be in a locked cage in the main shop area, but recently some tosser stole the cage to get all the lophos that were in it. | |

| Molochoz, another great place to get cacti is from The Cactus and Succulent Society of NSW. They do 2 shows a year, with massive plant sales. Next one is in October. Their monthly meetings also have plant sales before main part of the meeting, and I have gotten many good deals there, for both plants and seed. | |

| Thanks guys for all your input. The show in October is going to be on my list for sure. I must say that Hamilton's World was a bit of disapointment. I only bought one Stenocactus. Howver I saw a great collection of Lithops. Once again Thank you | |

| You won't be disappointed with the October show. At some of the previous shows I have been able to buy some rare old plants, from people downsizing their collections (age, or moving etc). Through the Fall show I was able to buy almost a dozen cacti that were 25 years old, and an Ariocarpus that is at least 40 years old. | |
