QLD Floods :( Empty
PostSubject: Re: QLD Floods :(   QLD Floods :( EmptySat Mar 19, 2011 5:48 pm

After years of battling to grow my own food in the drought, I had just started growing cactus for food and all was going very nicely thank you, then it rained! Where I live I didn't get bad flood damage like so many people, but some of my cacti suffered wet feet and the soggy black parts had to be cut off and the plants started off again.

They are doing ok now though, I didn't think they would recover so well. Initially, in 2009, they were planted in a dry, bare patch in one of my paddocks. Now they can hardly be seen for all the grass that came after the big rains. Tough plants these - can't help but love them!
