Love this little gem...Almost a metallic sheen to the petals... Can be a little tough as it tends to burst if watered too fast too soon...

Anyone else growing this little beauty ??

very nice navajoa and what a cute little flower just got myself two of these. I would like to know how old they are. Mine are on own roots grown by a friend around the same size as yours. Not knowing much about this little gem whats it like to grow.

It's not a tough one CC, I treat mine pretty hard, full sun (under poly and shadecloth in summer though) and I do find them quite slow. As I mentioned be very wary of the water as they do split quite easily. The bigger one with the buds just forming split after the first water last season. It's survived, but that might be why it's lagging behind the other..
These are a little over 4 years, but I got my first flowers on them last year so 3 years seems to be the flowering age.

Good luck with yours!

Nice little plants and shots Nava. I agree on the water and splitting issue I have two grafted plants and both have split, one a heap and the other a little. Grafted Cintia grow pretty fast but the problem is the stock cannot survive as long as the Cintia without water Smile

Here are some pics I took the other day.

Seeds are hard to come by, partly due to rarity but mostly due to them being difficult to harvest. The fruits are kept inside the stem of the plant for several seasons but will eventually make their way to the surface for collection.

My plants have flowered a few times but still no seed.

If I remember correctly Vlado had some very overpriced seed as did Köhres. I think grafted cuttings will be your best bet.

Yes, I've collected seed from my flowerings once, and I think I got something like a whole 3 seeds !!
Usually available from Koehres as HN said...
