Lophophora

Hi everyone.
I saw this photo of a loph and I was wondering which species it is. I'm intrigued by the pattern of the areoles - the photo was labelled as "lophophora texenis" but my google attempts didn't return anything with this sort of spiral pattern. Is this specific to one particular species, or is it something rare or that develops as the plant ages?

I saw a plant very similar to this one. The person who owns it apparently payed $400 to $600 for it.
He said it was a L. williamsii v. spiralis which is a kind of monstrose form.

I don't think it's the same plant but I could be wrong with the ID.

now THAT is one absolutely brilliant, outstanding and magnificent Lophophora williamsii var. texana/texensis.
the wool is just fantastic... due to never top-watering.
I think this could be called a 'spiralis' form, however its just this specimen and this character would most likely not be transmissable to offspring, but then again anything's possible.

not sure what size that one in the pic you posted is, but it seems huge.
and in any case that plant is something to clean the savings out with....
