Please everyone post here if you want to enter. I suggest you start buying or trading seeds and organising stocks.....this will be fun. Don't worry if you start late, it doesn't matter just enter and you will be happier for it.

whats the average time scale for grafted lophs and arios to flower? and is there any particular species of ario that is likely to flower sooner (or to be really slow to flower?)

Scarab,

Grafted lophs will flower quite quickly I think 12months is very achievable and the winner will be more like 6-8. Arios are much different and will take around 18months+ Good luck.

I would like to join the comperition, Ariocarpus only.
Actually I have completed seedling graftings for this year. I think November and December are too hot for seedling grafting in SA but I will try.

The forecasted maximum temperature of today in here was 40 'C and so I had to finish every things by 08:00 am.
I think I can start somethings after 08:00 pm today.

One week has passed since sown seeds.
Last week was too hot in SA. Unfortunately my heating plate can lift temperature to the set point but it can not cool down to the set point. The germinatioin was started on 20/11/09. The germination ratio is poor but it is still progressing. I think I have got enough numbers of seedlings for going to the competition.
