| Okay guys... here's another weird little loph of mine for you to take a squizz at. This little fella was grown from seed a few months ago. Unfortunately, a possum knocked over my seed trays and so I have no idea what this bloke was supposed to be. In all honesty, he could be a willy, a diff, a fricii, a koehres or some wacky hybrid. However, I'm less concerned about ID at this stage. Check out his growth pattern though... When I grafted him, he was just a normal-looking seedling. He's only started to take off since about April and his growth has been kind of slow. However, I'm not sure whether it's the usual wackiness that tends to occur to peres grafts, but this little guy does look kind of odd. So perhaps you can tell me - is this a crest starting to happen? | |

| Kind of looks like some sort of chimera. Or maybe some sort of monstrose. I might be wrong. Might be too early to tell. The fluffy cephalium looking stuff looks interesting, maybe they're spines who knows. Lachy, does this area look like where the growth is coming from?
Can we get a closer image? | |

| Yeah KanJe is right....hard to tell at that stage. The growing tip may have been damaged, if this is the case it will slow down in growth rate and then many new heads will form. Only time will tell. | |

| WTF??!! um okay.. IMO the new red growth looks almost like a Mamm FRED!!!! I'd definitely keep a close eye on this one, bit early to tell yet. i seriously hope that is a crest/monstrose/chimera mutation happening. maybe i'm fantasising, but think of the possibilites if it is something unique. you could propagate it by grafting, call it Loph. cv. 'Lachy' and distribute it around Oz (starting with your bestest ACF buddies first ). | |

| i think it's just growing a heap of new heads, the top might have got bumped and damaged. One of mine did something similar, got about 6 heads on it and promptly died. | |

| Well, it's still growing... and it's still looking pretty weird. It's not gaining size particularly fast, but the skin seems to be splitting in places so it's starting to bulge rather unevenly. I'm not sure whether it's going to crank out a whole heap of heads, go to a crest or start demanding regular feedings of human blood... | |

| LOL. I think you may have a 'little shop of horrors' on your hands. Either way I'm really excited about this one. | |

| The little beastie continues to grow. It's grown into a triple-header... sort of. One head is fairly normal, whereas the other two, well, you see... | |
