Hanazono, from my understanding you use Harissia for your stocks, correct? Would this plant grow better on a larger diameter stock like mature pachanoi?

I just cut 1 or 2 pups from a multi-heas plant and graft to maintain numer of plants.
It is not correct meaning of degrafting.
All other pups will be rooting from cuttings.
The rooting of luethyi is not difficult. I have around 100 rooted plants, done cuttings last autumn.
They are also in flower currently.

Lachy
I use Myrtillcactus geometrizans as grafting stock for luethyi pup grafting because they show a good compatibility.
I have never try pachanoi as grafting stocks and I am not sure the compatibility with luethyi.

Thanks Hanazono,

Could you degraft and root a whole clump without breaking it up?

I have not tried yet but I think you can root a whole clump.
I checked roots coming from a pup cutting. It was a tap-root.

Hellonasty
I once collected more than 100 grafted luethyi but they were reduced gradually.
