| I am assuming that everyone else is getting these ads too? Very freaking annoying. This has happened before, but it was pretty easy to fix. not so easy this time grrrr!!! Am working on having them removed...again. Sorry about the hideous annoyance people, please be patient. | |

| Yep, I have them too. I was going to whinge, but I thought that maybe they were intentional so I kept my peace.
Would be glad to see the back of them though!

| Well I have done some investigating and it looks like we are stuck with them from now on unless I pay to have them removed. Alot of people (not here) are in an uproar about this, and rightly so, many other forums are getting inundated with adult links of a pornographic nature. GBlad we don't have them at least.
They annoy the hell out of me, but obviously some don't mind. I might have to poll it? Thing is I don't know that I have extra money to pay for the removal, domain renewal is coming soon too. We will see how it all goes.

| Always, MC?
I've only had them appear in the last week or so. I wonder why it's different for different members?

| Ever since you joined up MC? Mine only appeared the other day. Apparently it's different for different members and also for other forums like this too. Hmmm very strange. Who else is getting them and who isn't? | |

| I find nearly all types of advertising very intrusive and obnoxious. Really don't like ads internet or otherwise. | |

| i guess most people have learned to ignore them. the most annoying ones are the trippy, rapidly-flashing 'you have won own hourly prize/a bahama cruise'. even worse the same in pop-up form which often freezes the pc | |

| I don't watch much TV at all these days. I guess that doesn't help me when it comes to ads. Yeah those ones are extremely annoying lewis. I always think that a virus may come slithering out of those types if you click em'. | |

| Anyone using firefox can go here, install the addon and voila - no more ads virtually anywhere on the net

| Yep, I'm using Firefox 2 with Adblock, and I'm not getting any ads or popups anywhere. It also seems to stop most spyware in its tracks too. | |

| Ok, so how do I actually install the Adblock addon once I have downloaded the file? Or do I need to place the file in a directory? If so, which one? This is the first time I have tried firefox. And yes...my favicon works now | |

| Well, from memory after you've installed firefox, you run it as per usual. Under "Tools" there should be an item labelled "Add-ons". Typically, you find, install and run all new enhancements to firefox via this menu. The whole process should be largely automated and you shouldn't have to do too much yourself. | |
