Any luck lewis?

You can actually resize them in the text/message editor. Which I am going to do for you, there is a thread that HN made about it too in the site feedback forum.

All the flowers are just gorgeous, great photos everyone. It makes the wait for spring worthwhile. And the size of some of them is unreal, such big rewards from sometimes inconspicuous looking plants. Doesn't take much to wonder y we collect 'em hey?

variegated section of G.baldianum makes a bright pink bud and the rest are normal. hopefully the pink one doesn't abort. i'll post a pic when they open.

What species lewis? Looks cool. As mentioned I have a few Gymnos in bud, but they are taking their sweet time to actually flower. Would you say that was normal?

Here is a pic of a Rebutia heliosa X it has many many buds on it but since one opened I just couldn't resist taking a photo, will try and upload some more when it puts on a better show. Looks like the same type as one Plantsoma posted earlier in this thread. I plan to X it with R. heliosa v. condorensis soon. I wonder if I could X it with Weingartia sp. since they are now considered the same genus?

its a baldianum.
yeah some takes ages for the buds to develop.. lots of heat helps them to develop much faster. they also usually need a fair bit of heat for the flower to actually open up fully.
on the upside gymnos flowers are probably the longest lasting of most cacti. i've had some individual flowers last about 2 weeks, opening every warm day.

Since we are posting flower buds here is one I am waiting for. It's pretty hot today 45 in the hothouse, got to 51 the other day. Anyways this ones outside and still waiting. Got an ID lewis? Anyone? Looks a bit like your baldianum, but it's distinctly different to my other baldianum. Any ideas.

Had to get a shot of my G. spegazzinii ssp. cardenasianum in there too Wink Love that one.

51???? its 16 here.. tad warmer in the greenhouse Laughing
your plant looks like a G.quehlianum or an ochoterenae. or something else. open flower would help alot. gymnos vary soo much.
my quehlianum's also got buds. flowers are white with a red centre.

edit: i love cardenasianum.. got another one recently. completely different spination.

A small but attractive Rebutia pygmea "haagei", well it looks like "haagei" to me, this one came with no tag at all.

Nice one Plantsoma. Great pic. Looks to be a pretty big flower too. I'm still waiting for myrio flowers. They seem a bit reluctant. Maybe it's my location. Never had capricorne flowers either. Asterias & hybrids seem to like it here though.

The background contrasts so well making the yellow petals so
iridescent you can hardly tell them apart.

Wow, Plantsoma. That image is really well done.

Thanks guys. I certainly am proud of my little babies and there should be some seed coming out of those three plants soon I hope Wink capricorneX SK Xasterias anyone? Things got a little loved up in the hothouse today haha. Having a great year for flowers this year after last years fizzer of a Summer. I give them alot of love so I guess that why they look healthy, wish I could say the same for some of my Arios, some of them look abit worse for wear after a root mealy attack. I hate root mealies!!! Die! Die! Die!

PS: A note to HN. See that little myrio type Astro near the nudum at the back of the pic? That's an A. coahuilense, can't see it too well, I will get some better pics when it grow a bit if you're keen. It's never flowered so I can't comment on flower colour yet.

is it just for convenience of photography sake or are you growing seedlings alongside adult plants? if so you must have some serious shade.
