| checked seedlings this morning couldn't believe it some had already germinated woohoo . planted seeds on the 8th this month . was reading should wait till i see first spines before opening zip bag. | |

| hey sneaky,they are bridgesii from kenni koala seed.also have some sharxx blue x thats barely a week old showing signs of life | |

| Cool!
Don't be in a hurry to open the bags. Provided you don't have algae or mould growing inside the bags its possible to keep them sealed up for a very long time. I have kept seedlings under germination conditions for over 12 months before. With some species this is very beneficial as it helps to speed up their growth.
Normally I give them a few months then very gently harden them off over a few weeks. The blues should be very interesting plants to grow!! | |

| ok great..thanks for the advice.some white algae or mold gown around some of the seedlings,but doesn't seem to be causing any trouble. have noticed a button growing too.its round like a small pea..im over the moon with results will start planting more seeds have been under24 hour light/heat.going to give it 6 hours with lights off ,on timer..when should they sleep? heat of day or night when is cooler | |

| Try to mimic nature. When I first started germinating seeds I tried to use heat mats and kept the temperature high 24/7 but I kept having failures. They really need not only a cyclic dark period but also a drop in temperature to match. This helps with growth and improves germination rates. | |

| ok will do..got them on timer now anyone used led strips?thinking of giving them ago for the seedlings..help keep temps down during summer ..using fluros and 25 w bulbs atm | |

| thanks..i use goood seedling mix $9 a bag..perlite i buy 100ltr bag.and sand for growing from bunnings 3 cup dirt 1 cup perlite 1 cup sand and i water twice a day with large spray bottle once otta the bag.
