| Good score, funny bugger. Had me going with that wireless crap haha. Good looking cactus. It does look a bit like a Peruvianus but I'm not the best judge of that. Just loving the photos and the fact that there's still life out there. | |

| Haha! Yes, I should have written "dish network" but hey, you get the idea. Yeah, the new cactus is a bit bent at the bottom. But I think if I find a nice spot to put him in the ground he'll probably pup next spring and start to thicken up a bit too hopefully. Yeah, I agree this forum is a little quite at times. If you want more pics I have one or two more cacti I'd like some ID opinions on. | |

| Be good to see some more. I may not be able to help with ID but I've now labelled some of my own unknowns due to other people seeking names for some of theirs and yours may benefit someone in that way also if someone else can ID them. Very helpful since we all have some of those unknown species which we've come into possession of from various sources. Sometimes they go unnamed for years 'til a helpful thread pops up. Also just a good chance to see what's out there and dream. | |

| Is it just me, or does that TBM look a little different from the clumping form in Australia?!?!?! I might be dreaming but it seems to look different. | |

| It looks like a plant that I have which I bought as a peruvianus a few years back. I think it's an uncommon plant in commercial cultivation, but definitely well-known to C&S enthusiasts and traded a fair bit. Lovely blueing on your specimen. - Quote :

I agree! I've heard of the, err, "Hulk's Dick" clone - which this may be - but I had no idea that it was in Australia.

| Yeah, it is a really nice plant, I was happy to find it. I couldn't tell what it was from the poor photo online but it was very nice in person. I've only had these TBMs for about 6 months but I'm just guessing they grew like this due to etiolation. I'm happy to be told otherwise though. The one in front of the daisy is about 2 cm from dirt to top. In the second pic you can see one segment looks much more like a standard TBM, all stubby and with big spines. that's why I'm guessing it could be a light issue or some kind of growing condition. I'll find as out as they grow over summer. Not long till the days get longer again! I also thought the "Hulk's dick" was the Lophocereus Schotti. Which would be cool to have one of! http://www.cactus-art.biz/schede/LOPHOCEREUS/Lophocereus_schotii/Lophocereus_schotti_big_penis/Lophocereus_schottii_big_penis.htm | |

I stand corrected! I was always under the impression that "Hulk's Dick" was a trich.
As to your TBM, having seen the newer pics I agree with your assessment. Almost certainly etiolation.

| I was reading on a different forum that you can make the aussie clumping strain stretch to atleast 15cm if you put the Tbm in a VERY shade area for a few weeks so it will reach the so called 15cm...
I dunno... | |
