Curl grubs!! Empty
PostSubject: Curl grubs!!   Curl grubs!! EmptySat Apr 27, 2013 8:27 am

I have a plague of curl grubs through my nursery. I live in the very hot steamy wet tropics since the relationally way of drowning the grubs in pots won't work since the pots have cactus in them does anyone have any ideas?

Has anyone else had an issue with these before?

I have just been reportting some plants that are needed and some have dozens per pot some only one or two all pots are off ground on shelves..

Here is a link.

You can get similar products from bunnings or garden centers. The problem is a lot of the new products dont have the active ingredient chlorpyrifos instead it is bifenthrin which is milder and in my opinion does not work as well as chlorpyrifos.

Any lawn beetle grub killer will do what you really want is something with the Active constituent: chlorpyrifos.

I find it works well for many things including ants and root mealy bug.
Just sprinkle around plant and water in try not to get any on the top of the plant.
Good luck hopefully this works for you.

My Aloe barberae had a lot of them recently but they were near the surface and I could just dig them out with my fingers. Poison might be your only working option if there's a big infestation though.
