Hi all
I went into Bunnings a few weeks back only to get some potting mix for a few palms I was re potting,I wasn't expecting a life changing experience on the day. They had just got in a new display/range of cactus and succulents, what can I say other than I am now hooked.I will post some pics as I go I am building a stand in the next week or two to display them a bit better and eventually like to get a garden bed going.Looking forward to being an active member of this forum.

Cheers Kev

Hiya simazine. Doesn't take much to get hooked on these beautiful little buggers. That's one of the lesser known functions of their spikes, to hook the unsuspecting.
We're currently in the middle of some mad rain and floods over here on the east coast and I've spent the last few week finding places out of the rain for some of my collection and making 'raincoats' for the rest that I can't find anywhere for indoors so I just thought since you're about to make somewhere to put your plants I'd recommend rigging it with the ability to add shelter. This would also be handy to prevent sunburn on any sensitive species. I've been promising to make a better rack system for mine for ages now and the weather is showing me that I should have gotten around to it by now. It has been fun improvising and shuffling around in the rain though. Just hope there's not too many losses in everyone's collections in the affected area.
Enough with the ranting. Hello and welcome. Look forward to seeing your posts.

Hi simazine

Western Australia is not really the "heaven" for cactus lovers.
Even most of the cacti at Bunnings are grown over east.
But there are some good people and plants around,
they are just hard to find.
If you interested in some more send me a pm.

And ...... welcome to the forum.

Cheers Snah
