| Thanks for the pics, great Melocactus. It looks like the Melocactus peruvianus cephalium is sprinkled with its own seed ... | |

| I'm in the same boat with my Melo Peru it produces way too many seeds Nice plants btw. I was looking at my Melo the other day and found a heap of seedling growing of their own accord near the base I never planted them they just fell there. _________________ My Cacti Blog, please come visit me.

| Some very nice plants there Cactuscook ! No tricks needed for Copiapoa seed TasV. Viability is usually pretty good, but fresh seed is best. Treat them the same as your other Cactus seed with warmth and humidity. They are usually very quick to come up too. C. malletiana is usually known as C. dealbata these days...but I guess that depends on whose naming system you want to use ! | |

| I bought it as dealbata... Desert Tropicals lists dealbata as a synonym of malletiana (see: http://desert-tropicals.com/Plants/Cactaceae/Copiapoa_malletiana.html)... so hard to keep up with the taxonomic nomenclature boffins or even to know which one is which Edit: it's also refered to as malletiana on the ICON allowable imports list too: http://www.aqis.gov.au/icon32/asp/ex_casecontent.asp?intNodeId=8434932&intCommodityId=566&Types=none&WhichQuery=Go+to+full+text&intSearch=1&LogSessionID=0
