I know very little about the monetary value of the plants themselves; however I must say those are some lovely specimens.

Nice! These always strike me as resembling agave's more delicate cousins. I really like them.

Nice truncata's. It's my favorite Haworth too. I hand pollinated my truncata's last year and set good seed, but the flowering of my plants were out of synch this season...a bit of a bummer!
Kohres have had maughanii seed listed in the past...

How difficult is it to grow haworthias from seed, and what's the growth rate like once it gets going? It's one of the succulents I'd like to have a crack at...

Lachy, in my limited experience I haven't found Haworthia from seed to be hard. I have read that they require a slightly lower germination temperature, but must admit I haven't given mine any special treatment.
Fresh seed is definitely best, as you can see by the rate these came up from my own seed. As for speed of growth, these were sown in January 09. They could probably do with a drink to be honest...65mm pot.

(Hope you don't mind me posting in your thread CactusCook !)

Yes, Truncata and the hybirds are my favourites too.I havent tried growing them from seed myself.I have been collecting Haworthias for about 2 years now and still learning all the ins and outs. I recently bought Rudolf Schulz's book Haworthia for the collector which is very good.
Navjoa: Your Truncata seedlings look very healthy and are so cute!
