G'day people,
I'm interested in non-chemical control of pests, largely because dumping poisons on my garden can't be doing it any good in the long run. However, I still have to do battle with slugs and snails who, it seems, possess the uncanny ability to devour a plant from the inside out, apparently overnight. I've tried beer traps and all it got me was a handful of pissed snails and a waste of perfectly good beer.
I have heard of people running strips of copper tape around their pots, greenhouses, etc. Apparently, the tape reacts with the snail's mucus to generate a small charge that gives the wee beastie a bit of a zap, thus deterring them. Has anyone else here tried this, and if so what were your results like?
