And here is the next cross section a couple of mm below

First time I've seen vascular rings terminate of there own accord like this? I've seen hundreds if not thousands of cross sections and this is the first example of its type I've come across

Anyone else witnessed this behaviour before?
It would appear the plant has resumed normal growth for now
Didn't cut it up anymore stuck it on a graft to see what happens

Oh I found it because the button fell of mother while I pulled out some weeds then made the cut during a grafting session
First button I've ever had fall off so easy also
Coincidence or what?

Hey Wert,

Yes I have seen this many times. It can get even weirder than this and occasionally the vascular bundles will be scattered everywhere and have no apparent ring or pattern at all. I find this occurs almost exclusively on grafted plants but can occur when plants are growing vigorously.
