Does anyone know what this is? First time I've seen it today growing on top of the soil, it is quite hard not soft - and seems to have its own little roots.. Never seen anything like it...

Sadly not! Whatever it is, is very much alive are growing through my greenhouse overnight. They almost lol and feel like little acorn seed pods.
