| They are beautiful flowers! I think that the epiphytes can have some of the most interesting and spectacular flowers of all the cacti. I think I'll have to get more of them!
I have one 'Epiphyllum' hybrid, and its flowers started opening a day or so ago. They are a brilliant, almost iridescent red with a lilac stigma.

| Wow they are stunning! Its amazing that they can produce such a variety of colours and shapes. I'm envious of your ability to grow them like that!
As far as I can tell the one I have most resembles the "Fire Engine" hybrid. It seems to be doing pretty well. But I have to admit that I generally don't have a lot of success growing these type of cacti myself. They tend to rot at the base. I do try to provide them with a well aerated, well draining medium. But it still happens!
I have a Hatiora gaertneri - its doing fine, the zygos all grow well. But when it comes to the 'epiphyllums' - I dunno - I must be doing something wrong. Maybe its the mix they're in. I read somewhere about putting quite large pieces of wood into the growing mixture - timber offcuts 2 - 3 inches across type of thing. It seemed a bit extreme, but maybe I should give it a go.
Anyway thanks for showing the pix. They are brilliant flowers - I'm going to have to get my act together and try and grow some myself!
