| Hi everyone, I have finally managed to get an excellent specimen of Adromischus marianae fa. herrei, and would like to do some cuttings. Has anyone had any experience in doing this? The best I can find so far is that you twist off a leaf, and let it sit for 2 days, then stick it partially into some soil. Other then that I can find nothing about light, temperature, watering, etc. Any help is appreciated greatly!
Cheers, IX | |

| I accidentally knocked a leave of each off my plants 6months later i have only just noticed small roots developing on one leave. I have just rested it onto coarse sand as i do with all cuttings. They are obviously a lot slower than say haworthia truncata leaves but thats just my experience i am sure that if i had of done it in early spring i might have had a better success. Good luck. | |

| Do you think I should wait till spring? And are these summer dormant? I'm pretty keen on getting this one to grow and multiply. | |

| I would probably try now as it wont be long before weather warms up which should encourage root development. | |

| Do you recommend twisting the leaf off, or cutting it with a razor? | |

| Will do, but I'll shoot photos of it before I do the damage, in case it doesn't survive. | |

| Their pretty easy to propagate from a leaf, break it or cut it shouldn't matter as long as it's clean, I'd be more inclined to do it in warmer weather though so it dries off quicker. Might depend where you are though.. | |

| Ok, here's my Andro, just before twisting off a leaf. After sitting a day or two, I'll set the leaf, along with 4 from a different marianae into a pot to let them start the long road to growing their own roots. Any suggestions on the soil type? | |

| You will rarely see one of these sell for under $100. The regular Adromischus marianae can usually be found for sale at or under $20. | |
