Pollinating tips for the genus Turbinicarpus Empty
PostSubject: Pollinating tips for the genus Turbinicarpus   Pollinating tips for the genus Turbinicarpus EmptyMon Mar 05, 2012 1:38 pm

Has anybody got any tips for pollinating Turbinicarpus spp.?

I have found them a little bit tricky to pollinate properly and often don't even get any fruits. Does anybody have an idea about this as I think I must be doing something wrong.

Thanks.

Nothing out of the ordinary, but the timing needs to be right and both plants ready... ie the pollen loose and leaving the stamens and stigma needs to open/ready... Try pollinating the same flowers mulitple times hours or even days apart if possible...increases your odds !
